What is Moxibustion?

Moxibustion is an ancient traditional Chinese medicine technique that originated from China more than 2,000 years ago. It is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on pain relief, illness prevention, and overall well-being.

Moxibustion is very similar to Acupuncture and Cupping in many ways. Both treatments help to stimulate the flow of Qi (气) to restore balance and remove toxins within your body.

How Does TCM Moxibustion Work?

Unlike the other TCM treatments, Moxibustion is not a physical treatment. A herb called ‘moxa’, or mugwort (Artemesia Vulgaris) is burned near your skin’s surface, usually targeting your acupoints.

The burning warms and restores the balance of Qi (气) within your body. Once your Qi is balanced, it stimulates and restores your body’s natural painkillers, detoxification, and boost your immunity.

At Regis Wellness TCM, we provide smokeless moxibustion, a safe and effective alternative to traditional methods. This modern technique minimises risks such as respiratory irritation, burns, and fire hazards, while offering the same therapeutic benefits to promote healing and well-being.
